Working from home in the best neighbourhood of all
Working as a voice-over talent from my home for ten years has allowed me to live a very flexible life. That’s fortunate, because in twenty two years, my husband and I have moved about nine times, but not just across town. We tend to go to the extreme, moving thousands of miles each time – Toronto to Vancouver to New York to California to Ontario to Grand Cayman to Nova Scotia. And, since we were way out on the Atlantic Coast, our next move would naturally be 1000’s of miles back to the West Coast…
Having moved so many times, I’ve experienced MANY different North American neighborhoods. From Battery Park City in Manhattan and Jersey City across from our beloved World Trade Center towers to Folsom, California nestled between San Francisco and Lake Tahoe, I’ve been blessed to experience so much and so many.
And now, it’s time we leave the neighborhood that has outshone them all – unassuming, underrated Five Island Lake Estates in Hubley, Nova Scotia…
With tens of thousands of lakes within this ocean encircled province, there is no shortage of natural beauty. Like living in cottage country, but only 20 minutes directly to downtown Halifax, the short commutes in this province are absolutely unlike any other.
So why do I sing the praises of Hubley, Nova Scotia? I’m hoping that through the power of social media, someone looking for the most lovely family home with a “car lover’s garage”, an acre of landscaped and natural space with a zip-line(!) for the kids, or grandkids, in an outstanding community, might snap up our listing in a time when we needed to hit the road yet again. Anyone who buys this home will not be disappointed and would likely love it as deeply as we do. Though the breathtaking beauty of B.C. always holds its own in my heart, Nova Scotia is a secret gem that is astonishingly affordable.
Our home, in a gorgeous, family oriented, spacious rural-like neighbourhood, is 20 minutes from downtown Halifax, door to door! The village of Tantallon is five minutes away with all necessary amenities. And, the iconic Peggy’s Cove, is nearby for entertaining visitors!
